Friday Favorites

Linking up with Andrea and Erika today for my Friday Favorites!

First....

Eos. With this cold weather my lips have been so chapped, but these are awesome. I was able to find a 4 pack of them at Sam's Club so now we have them in all different rooms of our house, in my purse, work bag, and Matt's backpack. So far the sweet mint is my favorite, but they are all pretty great!

Second....

This song. I actually switch radio stations in my car continuously hoping it's on. I'm pretty much in love with every single Luke Bryan song ever made, but this one is my new favorite. His new cd comes out in March and I'm super excited about it. To top it off, he just announced he's coming to First Niagara Pavilion on July 31 and Aug 1!! I need to snag myself tickets asap.

Third....

This meal. I think this might be my new favorite meal that I make and it is super easy which makes me love it even more. Riley and I are always on our own for dinner on Thursdays and a lot of times I resort to something that I can just throw in the oven, but last Thursday I wasn't in the mood for pizza so I looked through my freezer and I saw that already had all of the ingredients to make it. Plus, Riley equally loves this meal as much as me (minus the shrimp). I could literally make this once a week...Matt loves it too!

Happy Friday :)

Friday Favorites: Surviving the Cold

Linking up with Erika and Andrea for my Friday Favorites! This week's favorites are how I'm surviving these frigid cold temperatures....

On the bright side, school has been cancelled three days this week and that makes for two happy girls in this house!! Yippeeee!

First....

My Ugg slippers! If Ugg boots weren't great enough, I think I love my slippers even more. I put them on as soon as I get home and they don't leave my feet until I go to bed at night.

Second....

Coffee! It has been even nicer enjoying my cup of coffee in the morning in my pjs instead of work clothes.

Third....

My big comfy sweatshirt and blanket scarf! This has become my go-to snow day outfit. It's so warm and super cozy!

Happy Friday!! :)

Do you want to build a snowman?

Since it has been so frigid this past week, most of the schools have been closed. We've had 1 delay, 2 cancellations and we are closed again tomorrow thanks to the -24 degree windchill! It is too cold to go outside to play in the snow so instead today we decided to build a snowman together indoors!

I refused to go out in this freezing cold weather, so I used a bunch of stuff that I already had in the house....felt, contact paper, cotton balls and q-tips.

I made the snowman out of felt, taped contact paper on the back door and let her put it all together. All of the felt pieces come apart so that she can continue to build the snowman over and over again. She had even more fun putting cotton balls on the contact paper, but playing with the q-tips hands were her favorite!

Riley and I had a lot of fun with this and I'm sure we'll play with it some more tomorrow :)

Valentine's Day Card

For Valentine's Day this year, I helped Riley make a card for her daddy and I was so happy with how it turned out! I used cardstock paper (since it's thicker) and used masking tape to cut out I love you and taped it to the front of the card.

I then let Riley color all over the whole thing.  I taped the card down so that it wouldn't move on her while she was coloring.

She loves to color so this was right up her alley.
This is what it looked like when she was done....

And once I took all the tape off it looked like this....

So cute, right??! I was so happy with how it turned out and Matt loved it too! There's nothing better than a homemade card....especially from your toddler :)

Valentine's Day 2015

We started Valentine's weekend off with a date night on Friday! We went to Walnut Grill for dinner and then to the movies :)

What movie? Umm yes, we saw 50 Shades of Grey. I'm not ashamed to say that I was OBSESSED with the books...I read all 3 in about a week...along with 5 of my closest friends. Needless to say, I was really unsure if I wanted to see this movie and before it started I told Matt that I was pretty sure it would be terrible, but to my surprise it wasn't. It followed the first book perfectly. Although I would have rather seen Ian Somerhalder play the part of Christian Grey, Jamie Dornan did a pretty good job. Dakota Johnson killed it as Anastasia Steele...she was awesome! Matt even loved the movie and said he was intrigued to find out what happens next.

Saturday morning, Riley and I made a heart filled breakfast....

heart shaped strawberry waffles and heart bacon!
Riley was excited about her xylophone from her daddy....

As well as her cinderella outfit and doll....

She wore it all weekend!
We spent the day Saturday at the Children's Museum....

Riley had such a good time painting!

And playing back and forth with this wheel.
It may have been a blizzard outside, but Riley enjoyed playing in her bathing suit indoors....

When we were leaving, we came outside to a complete whiteout! Thank goodness we got home safely and enjoyed the rest of our night indoors.

We ordered chinese and had a picnic for dinner while watching Frozen!

And when Let it Go came on, Riley of course got up and danced for us....

It was a fun day with my two valentines :)

The night ended with these two dancing....

Such a great Valentine's Day weekend with my loves!!!!
